Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm Review

Hello Friends!

I did not even realise that I have completed 62 articles on IMBB! Just yesterday, I was counting my articles and I was surprised by the fact.

Okay, so coming to the review. It’s a lip balm. But, not just any lip balm. It’s Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm. Let’s read ahead to know how it fares.

Price:

INR 145

Product Description:

Ingredients:

My Experience with Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm:

Packaging: This lip balm comes in a white matte packaging with some detailing in blue and red. Just by its appearance, you can make out that it’s a medicated lip balm. It’s very basic. The cap fits just fine. The retractable mechanism keeps the product safe and secure. The packaging is nothing special, but is sturdy and travel friendly.

Colour: The colour of this lip balm is yellowish. It looks like a honey chapstick. On swatching, it imparts no colour; comes off as transparent. When I swatched this lip balm, it melted off! And, there was some liquid oozing out of the cracked portions of the lip balm. It wasn’t a nice experience! I think the lip balm had got ruined. So, I just scotched the top portion of the balm.

Texture: The texture is smooth and light. It’s not waxy. Nor do you feel like you’ve put on a lip balm. It’s a bit watery, I feel because when I apply the balm, it feels like I’ve put on some watery gloss or something. To me, when you apply a lip balm, you should get the feel of having something on your lips. This balm doesn’t give such a feeling. I have to purse my lips again and again to see whether the balm is still there or has it vanished.

But, it does moisturise the lips and heals them a bit. After you remove the balm, your lips don’t feel dry immediately. This makes my lips more moisturised than the Nivea Lip Butters. I wipe off the balm in about half an hour of applying(You’ll soon come to know why I do so). But, even after wiping off, the remnants of the balm provide enough moisture.

Staying Power: As I said the texture is really different. It feels watery. So, it doesn’t stay for too long. It fades after an hour. If you do not talk/eat/drink, it stays for 2-3 hours. If fades with eating/talking/drinking. You do feel the moisture after removing the lip balm, but still, I wished it stayed longer on the lips.

Smell/Taste: Doesn’t really smell like anything. But, it tastes horrible. I cannot bear the taste of it. It’s as bitter as a medicine. That’s the reason I wipe off the balm after some time. I’m a person who absolutely hates medicine, so I hate the taste of this as well. I don’t use this in the morning, I use this lip balm only at night, so that I don’t taste it even by mistake.

Swatches:

Pros of Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm:

• Travel friendly and sturdy packaging.
• SPF 15.
• Moisturises and heals the lips.
• A bit hydrating.
• Affordable.
• Doesn’t leave a whitish cast.

Cons of Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm:

• Not a fan of its texture.
• Hate the taste which is bitter and just like medicine.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

Final Verdict:

Buy this if you’re looking for a lip balm that moisturises and hydrates. But, apply it only at night. I won’t recommend using it in the morning due to its taste. But, if you don’t mind the taste, more power to you!

REVLON ULTRA HD LIPSTICK #830 HD ROSE

Well hello again haha
today I'm going to have a review on Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick #830 HD Rose
and here's how it looks like

the tube is pretty with silver-transparent colour, it looks super sleek and simple

here's the shade that I use, HD rose, i chose this shade simply because I'm a big fan of natural looking lipstick and i think rosey shades fits me well... so hahaha

and now lets move on to the review!

  Texture

this lipstick has a very creamy and buttery texture, and i hope you can see it in the picture i took later,
and the finished look is a bit matte, but a bit glossy?
it's super moisturizing
its not that light, but it's not too heavy,
but you can feel that you're wearing a lipstick

  Pigmentation

for the pigmentation I'd give this lipstick 3,5 out of 5
because it covers my lips really good but some of them is still seen through
it looks rosey but not like pinkish or red-ish coloured lipstick? it's more like nude-ish coloured
and I actually prefer a pinkish red-ish rosey coloured lipstick, so I'm not a big fan.

  Staying Power

as you know about creamy lipstick, it does transfer.
and I actually need to retouch it everytime I ate something
but if you're just having snack it will definately stay there.

  Overall

overall, i think this is a good lipstick but not the best? becase I prefer it to be more light for daily use, I bought this about 8 dollars in Revlon's store so it's not too pricey
repurchase? maybe, i dont know

and in addition,
THIS LIPSTICK SMELLS AND TASTES LIKE CANDY
yup. tastes like candy
its definately sweet
so you can lick it hahahah but don't swallow it!

it's not a bad lipstick so I would really recommend it to you guys if you like a creamy lipstick with rosey colour and a touch of nude
it looks really natural and pretty
it stays if you eat nothing
not that pricey
and i think you should try it!

i think thats all i can tell youuu everything is on my personal experiment lol
if you have any question or suggestion please please leave a comment down below,
thankyou so much for stopping by my blog!
and see you on the next review~

Maybelline New York Lip Smooth Color Bloom – Pink Blossom Review

‘Maybelline New York’ – ah! Do you need to know anything else about its products, especially those which are meant for our lips? For me, the name itself is so convincing that I don’t need to think twice before purchasing. I agree that I’m a bit late to pick this ‘Pink Blossom’ lip balm from the ‘Lip Smooth Color Bloom’ range of the brand. But you know what? Better late than never J. So, here is my review of the product:

Product Description:

Maybelline New York Lip Smooth Color Bloom range offers a couple of color changing lip balms with SPF 16. These uniquely yours sheer lip colors are nicely fragranced and they moisturizes as well as protects our lips efficiently. According to the company:

Shelf Life:

3 years

Application:

Apply daily on lips.

Packaging:

Maybelline New York Lip Smooth Color Bloom Pink Blossom comes in a very cute and girly packaging. There is an external carton, which is semi-circular in shape and white-pink in color. You can see all necessary information printed on it. The lip balm comes in a beautiful pink plastic case, which is small, sleek and extremely handy. It is basically a sturdy, twist-up tube case just like traditional lipstick cases. There is a very tight cap on its base, which is tight enough. I just love the longer shape and design of the lip balm, which is quite different than other similar products. The entire packaging makes it hygienic and easy-to-carry.

My Take on Maybelline New York Lip Smooth Color Bloom – Pink Blossom:

The lip balm is available in the form of a long stick with a sweet candy-like fragrance. It looks perfectly white and gives a clear, transparent layer of moisture on the lips right after the application. But as soon as it comes in contact with the skin of the lips, the internal heat of the body alters its color and it turns into a pretty pink shade. Here is the specialty of the ‘color bloom’ lip balm and needless to say, I’m in complete love with it. Whenever I feel like not wearing a lip color, I go for it. The color is bright yet non-flashy and the fine lines on my lips become invisible.

The shade can be sheer or darker depending upon your swatches. When I swipe the stick once, it gives a sheer pink. I usually swipe it a couple of times to ensure that my lips are properly moisturized. It makes the color a little dark, but it still looks a beautiful pink on my lips. However, if you go for more than 2 swipes, you may get a very cherry pink and you may not want to get such a pop of color (it resembles a lipstick or a lip color) on a regular day.

The texture of the white lip balm stick is quite creamy. Like many other lip balms available in the market, it doesn’t feel waxy or sticky. I can make it glide on my lips very easily and a couple of strokes are enough to get buttery soft, smooth and well-moisturized lips. Another great thing about this lip balm is that it comes with SPF 16. Not many lip balms available in the Indian market offers sun protection. However, it ensures that the lips do not get dry or chapped up to 2-3 hours. After that, you may need to reapply it.

Pros:
  • Soft, smooth and non-waxy texture
  • Its ‘color bloom’ quality is what I love the most.
  • Single swipe gives a sheer coverage, while multiple swipes gives a darker pink tone
  • Comes with SPF 16 so that your lips do not get tanned
  • Provides instant moisture to lips
  • Makes lips super smooth
  • Doesn’t give a sticky feel
  • Doesn’t make lips greasy
  • Sweet, light aroma (like a candy)
  • Slim, sleek, girly packaging
  • Reasonably priced
  • Easily available
  • Very easy and convenient to carry

Cons:

The moisture disappears after 2 to 3 hours depending upon the weather.
Melts to some extent during the summertime.
Only 2 shades are available (very disappointing!)
Over-application gives dark pink color, which may not be preferred by women with love for sheer coverage
The color doesn’t go off easily

Rating: 4.5/5

10 Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Swatches and Description

10 Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Swatches and Description

Most of you know that “I used to be” a “Colorbar Velvet Matte” lipstick fan.  That was the time when I hadn’t found “Maybelline Moisture Extreme” and when Colorbar had a square packaging and not the round ones and the lipstick formula was way different than what it used to be. It was soft and smooth and not staining at all. Now, I hate the new Colorbar lipstick so much that I had a hard time dealing with the five I have which I don’t use any more and have sworn never to get any more “Velvet Matte” because they stain, they stain pink and they stain bad!

But for my ex-love, I thought I would share the gorgeous lipstick shades and swatches I used to own. Please pardon me as I did not want to click the deformed, old, and half-used lipsticks and leave a bad taste and hence I took swatches only.  Hope this helps many of you for online shopping and for picking your favourite shade in every color family, be it brown, purple, mauve or pink. Maybe you will still like the new formula by Colorbar.

The ten shades are from left to right:

Pink n me.
Love that rust.
Rum raisin.
Berry fizz.
Pure innocence.
Temptation.
Iced tea.
Plumberry.
Smokey rose.
Candy.

Description for each shade so you know which one is matte, frosted, and shimmery.
Pink N Me:

Pink N Me is a frosted bubblegum pink for me and I don’t wear these type of shades at all as they really make me look sallow. People who wear pink and frosty ones will love.  There is no shimmer, no glitter, but only frost.

Love That Rust:
This one is exactly like “Boundless Bronze” in L’Oreal Endless Lipstick.  This shade is a pure shimmery rust, not day wear, but very Indian and very party and wedding type.

Rum Raisin:

This one is a crème lipstick, which has no shimmer, no frost. This one falls flat and is mainly matte and is a mix of mauve and maroon. This is a pretty bridal shade.

Berry Fizz:
This one is a blue-based purple and very deep and pigmented.  If you like purples, this can lift your face up. Good for pink skin tones, not yellow tones at all.  This is absolutely matte.

Pure Innocence:
Brown with no shimmer or frost. It falls matte and is a brown lover’s dream brown.

Temptation:

This one has been my most favourite purple lipstick for years now and I really love how it makes me look brighter and my teeth whiter. Its creamy matte with no shimmer and no frost.
Iced Tea:

It’s a matte deep brown . I avoid such shades on most days.

Plumberry:
Creamy matte plum brown shade.  It would make for a deep matte lip for day, so best used with a lip brush and then dabbed off with a tissue.
Smokey Rose:

This one washes me out, but is a pretty Barbie pink that I mix and match this one.  It is creamy with a little glazy finish. There is no shimmer and no frost.

Candy:

I used to love this shade to death. It’s a pretty brown plus pink and love how creamy it goes. There is no shimmer and no frost.
