My Experience with Nivea Med Protection SPF 15 Lip Balm:
Packaging: This lip balm comes in a white matte packaging with some detailing in blue and red. Just by its appearance, you can make out that it’s a medicated lip balm. It’s very basic. The cap fits just fine. The retractable mechanism keeps the product safe and secure. The packaging is nothing special, but is sturdy and travel friendly.
Colour: The colour of this lip balm is yellowish. It looks like a honey chapstick. On swatching, it imparts no colour; comes off as transparent. When I swatched this lip balm, it melted off! And, there was some liquid oozing out of the cracked portions of the lip balm. It wasn’t a nice experience! I think the lip balm had got ruined. So, I just scotched the top portion of the balm.
Texture: The texture is smooth and light. It’s not waxy. Nor do you feel like you’ve put on a lip balm. It’s a bit watery, I feel because when I apply the balm, it feels like I’ve put on some watery gloss or something. To me, when you apply a lip balm, you should get the feel of having something on your lips. This balm doesn’t give such a feeling. I have to purse my lips again and again to see whether the balm is still there or has it vanished.
But, it does moisturise the lips and heals them a bit. After you remove the balm, your lips don’t feel dry immediately. This makes my lips more moisturised than the Nivea Lip Butters. I wipe off the balm in about half an hour of applying(You’ll soon come to know why I do so). But, even after wiping off, the remnants of the balm provide enough moisture.
Staying Power: As I said the texture is really different. It feels watery. So, it doesn’t stay for too long. It fades after an hour. If you do not talk/eat/drink, it stays for 2-3 hours. If fades with eating/talking/drinking. You do feel the moisture after removing the lip balm, but still, I wished it stayed longer on the lips.
Smell/Taste: Doesn’t really smell like anything. But, it tastes horrible. I cannot bear the taste of it. It’s as bitter as a medicine. That’s the reason I wipe off the balm after some time. I’m a person who absolutely hates medicine, so I hate the taste of this as well. I don’t use this in the morning, I use this lip balm only at night, so that I don’t taste it even by mistake.

Final Verdict:
Buy this if you’re looking for a lip balm that moisturises and hydrates. But, apply it only at night. I won’t recommend using it in the morning due to its taste. But, if you don’t mind the taste, more power to you!
